Spring Overnight to Chiricahuas
March 25 - 27, 2025

We are excited to be offering our overnight trip to the Chiricahuas Mountains near Willcox, AZ. Hiking opportunities are fantastic, with a variety of hikes in Chiricahua National Monument and surrounding areas. Preliminary descriptions of the hikes selected by the Hike Coordinators will be provided in the Hike Description sections of the Hike Information tab in mid-January. More details for each hike will be provided by email in upcoming weeks.

Accommodations: The club has reserved a block of rooms at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Willcox, an IHG Hotel, 1251 N Virginia Ave, Willcox, AZ 85643. The phone number is (520) 384-3333. We have reserved 20 standard rooms for the nights of March 25 and 26 with checkout on March 27. The cost is $109.00 per night for a standard room with two queen beds plus $14.22 tax. Breakfast is included each day. Please identify yourself as a Sun City Hikers group member. Should you decide to go a day early (Monday, March 24), please be sure to let the hotel know of your plans when you book the reservation to get the group rate. Please book all reservations by phone.

Sign up for the Overnight will be using SignUpGenius. The signup will request information regarding whether you plan to drive and whether you need a roommate. You will need to make your own arrangements for a ride and for a roommate. 

There will be a separate sign up for each hike (in addition to the signup for the overnight) in SignUpGenius. Non-hikers are always welcome on the overnight.

Hospitality Hour at the hotel: We will meet in an assigned room about 4:30-5:00 PM each day for refreshments, to share our hiking experiences from the day and to learn about the hikes for the following day. More details will follow.
